Raising my credit score?

Question by : Raising my credit score?
My credit score is 530. According to the credit report I obtained, the single most detrimental thing on my credit history are four unpaid medical bills that total to about $ 700. I was planning on trying to raise my credit score by doing two things: First, I would pay off the unpaid medical bills, and ask if they would remove them from my record (unlikely I hear). Second, I would get something called a “secured card” from my bank, which is sorta like a credit card, except you only get as much credit as the money you put down on the card. I was hoping that I could use this card for a few months on my small purchases like grocery shipping and rack up small but steady good credit.

With all of these efforts combined, based on the information I’ve given, where could I expect to see my credit score in two to three months, assuming I pay all my current bills on time, etc? The thing is, I am trying to apply for a carecredit card for my dental work. I was already denied, so I am hoping that if I raise my score some, I could get approved.

Doing the pay on delete will be extremely beneficial for your credit
Just google Pay on Delete – make sure you do it right
It could take 60 days for your credit reports to update after your payment clears
The secured card will not bring much benefit, since it can take 1 to 2 years to develop a payment history
